On this episode we look at the obscure and only film work of musician Dee Snider titled “Strangeland”. We poke into the world of body mods and get into the ugly state of modern social media, as this film still has resonance and relevance today.
In this episode I mentioned a starting to place to learn about being safe on the net. One good starting place on the hacking mitigation side is a Science Channel documentary called ‘Dark web fighting cybercrime”. It details some basics on keeping your personal data safe.
Another aspect is having your kids learn to spot online predators. People can pose as anyone online so you have to weary of who you and your kids are talking to. Below are a few links to get started.
Always use your own judgment when using social media because there are plenty of predators that use social media to exploit other for various and nefarious gains. If something seems like it’s too good to be true or clicking way too easily, chances are, someone is using some form of social engineering to reel you in.
I hope this gets the ball rolling to keep you safe from both a Captain Howdey or just some net nobody who thinks they can exploit you as their own personal piggy bank. Stay Frosty on the net at all times. The more aware the better.
The comic 7 sins was published by The Scream Factory/Fangoria Comics. The planned 4 issue origin series only saw 1 issue as it came towards the end of Fangoria Comics life. The Scream Factory soon after that dissolved into limbo and put out no further tiles. Their social media presence vanished so there is not much to link to other than Wikipidea and a few other wikis.
